The Trees With Orange Rings.

I moved to Montana in 2019, following a couple visits during summer in previous years for a work opportunity involving birds. While I knew they occurred here, I never did see a great gray owl. Beginning that first fall, after gathering as much intel as I possibly could from locals - which in the end was insignificant, I set my sights on the North Bridger Mountains, and traversed through the old growth forests in search of the owl that dwelled there. One cold, quiet, snowy morning in October, I came face to face with one. That owl sent me on an explorative journey of self and environment, in which my mind was almost constantly intertwined with the thought of a bird and where it lived.
