Life at high elevation.
Ten thousand feet above sea. This is a black and white series that I feel gives stark emotion to the subjects. Life at ten thousand feet is challenging, welcoming only those most equipped for its elements. My time with mountain goats in the high elevations of Montana validated this for me. Cold weather, heavy winds, sharp peaks and boundless terrain, snow in every season; wild like you wouldn’t believe. Hours spent observing, photographing and admiring mountain goats up close and personal, in their environment, undoubtedly sit with my most memorable wildlife encounters to date. The photographs in this series took place in early summer, as the animals shed their winter coats and grazed on vegetation emerging from the snowy landscape.
