Ten Thousand - 1

Ten Thousand

Life at high elevation.

Ten thousand feet above sea. This is a black and white series that I feel gives incredible emotion to the subjects. Life at ten thousand feet is challenging, welcoming only those most equipped for the elements. My time with mountain goats in the high elevations of Montana validates just that. Cold weather, heavy winds, jagged peaks and terrain, snow in every season; wild like you wouldn’t believe. Hours spent observing, photographing and admiring mountain goats up close and personal, in their environment, has undoubtedly become my most cherished wildlife experience to date. The photographs in this series took place in late spring, as the animals shed their winter coats and grazed on vegetation emerging from the snowy landscape.
